About You
FVF are seeking Appointed Representatives to start their own finance broker business with the support of a structured business model. So, what are the skills and experiences that will be required of these Appointed Representatives?
It is often said that ‘nothing happens in business until someone sells something’ and this is certainly true of FVF. We are looking for self-motivated people who will commit their efforts to building a business by seeking out opportunities to provide leasing finance, primarily for motor vehicles but also for other lease / lease purchase of other business assets. Experience in this area, and sales in general, would obviously be an advantage, but full training will be given in the FVF operating system. The most important attribute that you will bring to the role is a desire to build a successful business and take control of both your commercial and financial future.
Although your income and success will depend on making sales this is not a traditional sales role. Typically, the customer will have already decided, to a great extent what specifications of vehicle they want and so the first part of the sale will have already been made. Your role will be to ensure that the sale is completed through you and not another dealer. Part of this process will be to act as a facilitator by ensuring that you understand the customer’s needs and then helping them to get the finance they need.
Most of your enquiries will come via the internet, so FVF will set you up with your own local FVF webpage on their main site. You will then be able to optimise using ppc to drive online traffic to your local webpage – you will also grow your business more quickly by actively seeking out opportunities through telephone marketing to potential users of FVF services. You will need to feel comfortable on the phone and to be approaching local businesses to introduce your services and following up opportunities at a later date that you may learn about. ‘We’ve no need for your services at the moment but we will probably be renewing some of our vehicles early next year’.
This can be a home-based business, although you could, if you wished, operate from an office. As such, it is very flexible in terms of operating hours so could be attractive to a self-motivated person who might want to work around family or other commitments. Whilst the hours of work may not be fixed there will be a need to dedicate sufficient time to building a worthwhile business.
As you will have read in the Introduction on the website, the business is governed by the FCA and each AR will need to conform to their standards. If you have ever had any financial problems like County Court Judgements, Insolvency etc this may, under certain circumstances, disbar you from getting the Authorisation required to become an AR. If you believe this may be the case, please take the opportunity to discuss this with us by clicking on the ‘Schedule a Call’ button and booking a time to speak with our Recruitment Specialist, Pam Gordon.
